la ferme des aulnes is fine but val d'authie has lots more to offer no contest in my opinion the tourer section is across the road and therefore off site it is adjacent to the main road which can be busy play facilities for kids is better at val d'authie being between statics is not a problem - I was in the tourer section at the back of the site and was able to have a chat with folk in the statics without any problem the issue of course is, given its location in the north is probably a tendancy for people not to speak english therefore a non-french speaker will have problems
Just goes to show that different sites appeal to different people!
I wouldn't say that the main road outside La Ferme des Aulnes could be classed as busy at any time though, yes, some cars use it obviously, but definitely would not say that it has ever been busy when we've been there.
Not sure I understand what you mean with your last paragraph: I was in the tourer section at the back of the site and was able to have a chat with folk in the statics without any problem the issue of course is, given its location in the north is probably a tendancy for people not to speak english therefore a non-french speaker will have problems I speak French quite well and will have a conversation with any French person. In fact, I am Dutch, so can hold a conversation in more than one language! That is not my issue about being in the middle of statics at all. I just don't like being in the middle of them on a site, whether in the UK or abroad.
As I said, different things appeal to different people, or it does not
