Not all that many sites near the coast, open at that time of year, but you could try the Bienvenue a la Ferme website, which has farms with camping (down the left side select Accommodation, then Camping.

Otherwise, but inland try La Chaumiere

or

Les Piloteries

but the second doesn't appear to open until mid-April.  Lots of French sites have much shorter seasons than here and at the beginning of season you might find yourselves quite lonely!

On the other hand you could use Camping Cheques (www.campingcheque.co.uk) and find a more popular (but still quiet at night) site, such as Chateau du Gandspette for £13.95 for a pitch for two adults, car and tent (or caravan), awning and electricity.  It has super facilities, no entertainment, but a small bar and restaurant, a boulangerie visits daily, and it's near some WW2 sites such as Le Blockhaus at Eperlecques, or La Coupole at St Omer.  Sill using Camping Cheques you could go a little further into Picardy,  towards Baie de Somme at one of the sites with an indoor pool such as Ferme des Aulnes or Val d'Authie.  Again, likely to be quiet, but at least have some company at that time of year.

Or as SGThomas mentions below (edited in later), have a look at the ACSI card website (www.campingcard.co.uk) for a further selection of sites in that area.

Just a warning, also edited in later, though, that it could still be very cold in northern France at that time of year, in a tent.  We were freezing, once, in a tent at the beginning of May with a really hard frost on the ground.

Thank you very much, that's brilliant, spend hours on web sites last night and you have given me more than I found! We will be on our way back from Riems after spending a week in a gite and wanted to find somewhere for Easter sat and Sunday night to see the kite festivale in Berek. Any ideas if it is freezing? I don't want to spend too much and have never stayed in the area. Thanks .

We were in Rouen mid April 2010 and it was so cold that the olive oil froze solid. Even the brass monkeys had migrated.

Avoid the municipal site at Wissant - the facilities need bulldozing and rebuilding. Great location though!

You can probably find a very cheap hotel at that time of year, and avoid the 'Freezing' option!  I really wouldn't want to do April in a tent, just in case.

Look at the Accor group website - they show four budget hotel chains, there's an ETAP at Berck sur Mer which is 32 euros per night - and ETAP are fine for a couple of nights.  Book asap though, because prices will go up once bookings start for the kite festival.

We've seen a kite festival down in the Camargue area - and it was absolutely spectactular.

We overnighted in July at the municipal site at a small town called eu a couple of hours down the coast from Calais. It was situated in the grounds of the chateau and was an easy stroll into the town. They open April 1st, and from memory we paid 12 euros or thereabouts for two adults, a motorhome, electric, and our dog.
