I think you should be OK! We've stayed there quite a few times, and the Dourbie is definitely deep enough to swim in - both by the site, and further up towards the Gorges. There are lots of places where you can get down the river, and be completely on your own for a bit of wild swimming. We've watched people canoe down the Dourbie past Les Rivages, but not done it ourselves. As far as teenagers, go, I think there is some entertainment on the site, but at that time of year there should be plenty going on in Millau itself. Usually in the evenings there are things going on - music in the streets, the night market (which I agree is definitely worth a visit), dancing, and even the bowling alley if you get desperate and the weather is a bit off! Our 'teenagers' found watching the paragliders land was worthwhile, and one of them enjoyed tandem paragliding (though it wasn't cheap).
There are also things like the night market at Montredon up on the Larzac, which is one of the best things we've been to, in the area.
From the 25th August Les Rivages takes the ACSI card, which brings the base price of a pitch for two adults, including car and caravan, awning and electricity, down to 16 euros per night. They also do 7 nights for the price of 6 - so investigate the ACSI card website www.campingcard.co.uk for details. You could save quite a bit even if you combine your first week at normal site tariffs and then the second at ACSI!
