We are thinking possibly on  staying at this site last 2 weeks of August, we are governed to these weeks due to work and school holidays. I have read all available info on the site and lots of reviews. We have stayed at Les Peupliers a few years ago and really enjoyed it so this year we thought it would be nice to be closer to Millau as we only drove into once the time we spent in the area and that was the food festival evening which had a lovly atmosphere to it.

The only concern we have is, we have teenagers with us, is there gonna be enough to keep them occupied? we dont like the all singing all dancing sites but do like a bit of entertainment, an evening stroll or just sitting on our pitch with a few drinks. We've canoed along part of the river Tarn and hope to do this again. Is the river Dourbie deep enough to swim or use inflatables for messing around in?

Is the river  dourbie deep enough to swim or use inflatables for messing about in?

Its been a few years since we went and that was out of the main season. As I recall the site has some good sports facilities as well as a nice swimming complex. I would have thought the river would have been OK for an inflatable. There is a sort of slipway. There are some riverside pitches which of course are very popular and again if I recall correctly a bit smaller than the other pitches. We were a couple of rows back from the river and had quite a good sized pitch.

I think you should be OK!  We've stayed there quite a few times, and the Dourbie is definitely deep enough to swim in - both by the site, and further up towards the Gorges.  There are lots of places where you can get down the river, and be completely on your own for a bit of wild swimming.  We've watched people canoe down the Dourbie past Les Rivages, but not done it ourselves.  As far as teenagers, go, I think there is some entertainment on the site, but at that time of year there should be plenty going on in Millau itself.  Usually in the evenings there are things going on - music in the streets, the night market (which I agree is definitely worth a visit), dancing, and even the bowling alley if you get desperate and the weather is a bit off!  Our 'teenagers' found watching the paragliders land was worthwhile, and one of them enjoyed tandem paragliding (though it wasn't cheap).

There are also things like the night market at Montredon up on the Larzac, which is one of the best things we've been to, in the area.

From the 25th August Les Rivages takes the ACSI card, which brings the base price of a pitch for two adults, including car and caravan, awning and electricity, down to 16 euros per night.  They also do 7 nights for the price of 6 - so investigate the ACSI card website www.campingcard.co.uk for details.  You could save quite a bit even if you combine your first week at normal site tariffs and then the second at ACSI!

Spent last two weeks August last year at Rivages (and two years previously). It is a good site with lots to do. Millau is a 'happening' place for teenagers. There are usually lots of families still on site at this time of year, and the Dourbie river beach (shingle) is very popular.

I don't think you will regret going there.

Its a nice site, but don't forget your budgie smugglers, they are very keen on them, like a lot of French sites...nice location as well, with the Millau town within easy walk..

Pascali

We have stayed at Les Rivages four times over the years ,the last time being last year. The sight in our eyes is great for kids incl the teenagers. It has two good sized pools, two squash courts, indoor arena to play badminton football etc.All facilities were in very good condition and clean.

Many teenagers hang around the reception in the evenings utilizing the free wifi and chatting.

Not withstanding those facilities our kids spent hours and hours playing in the river .The best holiday investment was a collapseable Crayfish pot which was religiously put out every night!(even caught a trout in it)

    Enjoy
