Hi, we are looking for a well priced /good campsite near la Rochel/vendee, that takes dogs/children during August 2012 any advice please,Many thanks,Bry
The search facility is a good place to start, there will be lots of sites in the Vendee people have stayed on and reviewed. L'Oceano D'or was a nice enough site. Have a browse and check out their websites.
Camping Bel in La Tranche comes up time and time again on this forum & recommendations of it on this site have resulted in me (nearly - pending reply from the site) booking it for Aug. It is quite expensive though.
Inland I've seen good reviews of Les Peupliers in Couhe...probably more for your money inland.
I suspect the Vendee in August will be relatively expensive if you want a decent site...although I guess depends on your definition of expensive!
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
La Garangeoire- dogs very welcome and the site has its own small woods and lakes, nice for walking the dog around. ten mim drive away (at the most) is Lac Du Janury with miles of walking too.
Camping Bel is approx one hours drive from La Rochelle. The other two mentioned, La G and LPP would be bit more.
So perhaps none of these would be suitable.
When you say you want to be "a couple of miles inland" do you mean from La Rochelle?
