We have been a couple of times and the last time was in early September 2010. Its on an Island overlooking the Chateau in Samur. The pitches along the river with the view are a bit more expensive. There is a lot of shady pitches amongst the trees and toilet blocks are dotted through the site. There is a bar/restaurant/takeaway that looks quite new. The site now has its own swimming pool now which is another change from our first visit when you have to use the Municipal Pool next door. I do have some pictures on my website. One of the reasons we decided to go back was that you can walk into Saumur from the site and there are some superb views from the Chateau of both the site on the other side of the river and the Loire Valley.

Try Parc de Montsabert Coutures which is about twenty minutes drive from Saumur. This is a very nice but quiet site with easy access to Saumur, Angers, Fontenvrau etc.
