Plan to go to Bologna this summer by car, camping there and back.
I am looking at heading to the Somme, few days, then Alsace nr Verdun, Through Switzerland few days, then 4 days in Italy looking for somewhere called Monte Battaglia, and home again.
The snag is that all I can find so far are the type of places with 5 Star bolt ons and prices to match, all we want is a clean, level pitch, loo, hot showers type place.
Do they exist on this route? at the moment B&B all the way would be cheaper!
Help!
Thanks in Advance for replies!

Have a look at municipal sites, usually good quality and not too dear. There is also a scheme for smaller rural sites , we stayed at one in Alsace, but I can't remember the name of the scheme sorry!!
We used the Caravan Club Europe guides, but I thonk you need the 2 to cover France and Italy, but had no trouble finding smaller sites.

unfortunatly website isn't in english, and this particular site probably not on your route to Italy.
