Hi all. We are going to France in our tent and wondered if I need any form of adaptor for the EHU?

It will depend which site you are going to, some have the normal uk blue connection, some have an EU adapter and others have reverse polarity.

If you let us know which site you are going chances are somebody would have been there and got some better answers for you.

The blue CEE17 connectors we use in the UK are also widely used in France, however there are still quite a few sites that still have 2 pin connectors on their site bollards. As it would only cost about a fiver to buy an adaptor it makes sense to take one with you.

We always take both and have used both when in France. Some sites still need the 2 pin connector.

You may find taking a European lead beneficial.

Most French site are 6 amp, which means a total equipment wattage of 1380.

Just buy one anyway, they are only a few quid from any UK camping shop. Essential kit for France, you never know when you might need one.

I bought a kit off e-bay with everything in it 2pin polarity reversing lead a circuit tester (3pin plug type that goes into your ehu and shows any type of electrical fault and reverse polarity.I got it last year,glad I did as we enede up having to use it.
