There is a large carpark at the port but there is a small charge. I cannot remember how easy or difficult it is to park up after exiting customs and the disembarcation area. I suggest you email Irish Ferries and see what they say as the car park area may have a barrier.
Because of the traveller problem in Ireland all the picnic areas and car parks have barriers and it is really difficult to find anywhere to park up with a caravan or motorhome.
There is a small but very well kept siteabout 5 miles away and they are used to the Ferry traffic but you would need to book. http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=7825
