Hi,

We found camping last year and after a few weeks of heaven in our native Scotland have decided that we may try France this year.  Trying to do it on a budget so would like to go with speedfast at around £55 return for us all.  We thought we might spend a couple of nights at Eurodisney, and then head for a more relaxing holiday by the beach or inland.

We have to travel from Scotland so are not too keen to drive too far on the other side.  Maybe about 4hours would be the max.  We have two small boys of ages 4 and 6, and so a pool or beach would be good.  The only other criterai is that the site is clean!

Any suggestions?

We have been travelling to France from Dover for around 6 years starting when our children were a little bit older than yours. I  would suggest you travel overnight  arriving in France at daylight  and book into a cheap motel which have family rooms for a night to recover from the long drive.

Hi,

Thanks for that link.  It looks great, and seems very drivable from Paris or the ferry.  I imagine the prices are in Euros and if I'm correct it seems quite good value based on all that is on offer.

Thanks again,  Hope you have good holiday.

We have stayed at Les Eaux twice in the past its a great site epecially for the kids. It is part of the Castels group of sites (all independently owned but marketed under the Castels brand). They used to be known as Castels et Camping and all have one thing in common in that they are in the grounds of old manor house / small chateau type houses.

Have a look at http://www.les-castels.com and tick the union flag.

No problem - It has all the usual facilities on the site including a covered waterpark / slides & waterchute, bar, take-away and shop. There is free fishing in the lake shown in the illustrations and the 'dovecot' also illustrated contains a jacuzzi that is operated using tokens.

Places to visit in and near the area - The nearest beach is 4Km away st St Pair sur Mer, Bayeux (for the tapestey), Ganville, Chaussey Isles (boats from Granville).

Have a great time.
