When we went to the Monaco Grand Prix a few years ago we stayed near Antibes and caught the train (walking distance from the campsite) to Monaco. I am sure you could get a bit nearer to Monaco, perhaps somewhere near Nice.

Don't know about specific campsites but I was there in October and bus travel is fantastic and cheap. We stayed in Nice and the bus to Monaco was 4euros return. So anywhere along that stretch would work out.

I agree, we stayed on a site opposite the station at Biot, between Antibes and Nice, and used the train quite a lot.
From what people have said on here, the buses seem to be cheaper, but the train gives you a chance to get away from the traffic! Besides, we like trains.

You are allowed to take your MH into Monaco, however please be aware that you are not allowed to park it on the roadside at all, this law is strictly enforced. There is only one car park suitable for motorhomes in MC (link below). Motorbikes are fine to take in though and parking for these is a lot easier, underground guarded car parks are plentyfull and actually very cheap. As others have suggested, it would be easier to park somewhere between Nice & Antibes and use the very efficient public transport system.

Enjoy your visit, I was there in November and will be back there again for the gp in May.

Monte Carlo MH Parking

There are a couple of campsites in Villeneuve Loubet Plage, have not stayed at them, however they are very handy as the train station is across the road. Make sure it is Villeneuve Loubet Plage though, as Villeneuve Loubet Village is a good few miles away and easily confused.

Like others, we have camped at Biot, "La Brague" and "Camping du Pylon", close to Antibes and Nice.

Have driven into Monte Carlo a few times, but car only, and parking has been hit and miss, and some times free!, but would not wan't to attempt it in a motorhome, even the small tunnels on the coast road west side comming into to Nice have a 2m height restriction!.

The train is the easist by far, cheap and quick, and the station at Biot, is yards from the campsite gates.

Same here I stopped at Camping du Pylone and used the train loads of times, even to the huge market in Ventimille(Ventimiglia), just over the border in Italy.

Hi
'shortly' is the key to your visit. As others have mentioned, the sites near to the rail station are a great idea.

If you are going any time near the summer beware as it is incredibly difficult to find any parking near a rail station! In fact any parking is a nightmare. We were there in early September last year and ended up driving into Monaco as it was simply impossible to park in France! We were in the car, having picked our son and his girlfriend up from Nice and parking was easy in Monte Carlo. I would have loved to have taken the train as I would have seen more.

One good tip. The buses in Monte Carlo are very cheap go everywhere! We walked for hours in the hot sun around the F1 track and up to the palace and saw the whole lot again from an air conditioned bus for a euro!

Antibes is lovely.

Helicopter is the only way to arrive in Monte Carlo or luxury yacht of course

Joking aside if you fancy treating yourself it is a great ride from Nice airport in Monte Carlo and won't cost you and arm and a leg (just one or other)
