Another perfect looking campsite for us, slightly closer than Domaine de Gaujac and the reviews are good. Thinking that we could do a few nights at Le Bontemps on the way as their camping cheque season starts 18/8. Anyone been to either?

L'Hirondelle meets all of your criteria in your previous post "Plans A, B & C".

You may be situated in/near statics, but the wooded nature of the site means that it doesn't feel like this. The plus side is that the sanitaire block is less busy as statics have their own facilities. Pitches are generally large, but often irregular shaped (ours was 150m2). You may need a long lead for hook up.

Number of super sized pitches with key to private facilities, but not sure how this works with Camping Cheque and they are a long way from reception.

The unbelievable water playpark will especially delight your 3 year old as well as amaze your 6 year old. The various slides will delight your 6 year old. There are a choice of pools with the Dutch teenagers typically in one and families with little kids in another, which is mainly shallow and "fun".

The play area is okay, but in full sun and there are 3no bouncy castles. A Kawan kids club operates in the mornings.

Clientele is mixed but in August very predominantly Dutch/Flemish.

River is a joy for children of 3 & 6 as ranges from still & shallow (in August) to fast flowing narrow bits for them to whizz along on any type of inflatable (too shallow for heavy adults to do same though!).

Super super area for pottering about.

On the slight negative: Facilities are at the start of the site and site is very elongated, so can be a very long walk to the pool for little legs in 37C of August heat. Ditto for the morning breads.

No on pitch charcoal BBQs. There are a couple of communal ones, but these are hogged by chalet occupiers.

Finally beware blinking Belgian neighbours pitching 6 feet from your heads and noisily waking up at 5am!

Thanks VB. Just the kind of inside info I was looking for. When say very predominantly do you mean almost exclusively Dutch/Flemish? Also, do you know if you can rent bikes on the site?

I would say that the "feel" of the site is 100% Dutch in (probably 85% in reality of touring pitches and 99% of the rentals). Just like many many of the sites taking Camping Cheques in our experience.

Generally, we much prefer to be on a French orientated site ourselves, but this is a particular exception a la the under 8 kids facilities and the ambience of the surrounding area. All of which will be non-manic by the time Camping Cheques kick in.

Feel free though to prattle endlessly in French on site and elsewhere....

bringing this back to the top to ask do you think this site would be ok for a 13 year old? She loves swimming and water slides and the river looks excellent too. Is there any wifi onsite?
