Hi, i booked my pitch in Spain for 10nights camping. We are going to Playa Brava Pals Catalonia. Its the first time that we have camped in Spain but we have camped in France before. Really need your advise as we are taking our vango orchy 6 man, for me and my hubby and daughter (9 years old),( that isnt poly cotton) :( and a 2 man tent for my teenage son. We would really love to buy a poly cotton tent buy but cant afford it :( . We are thinking of buying a tarp to cover both tents instead. Anybody that has any ideas i would love to hear them, or have i made a mad thing booking a pitch with a non polycotton tent in spain errrrr!!!.
Thanks

You will find most campers use polyester tents in Spain. Its only really the Dutch that go in for canvas tents in a big way, perhaps wages are better in Holland. Most Spanish campsites have plenty of trees so if you can choose your pitch try to find one with shade at midday.
A tarp ain't good for shade from hot sun as the heat just builds up underneath. In Spain in any hardware/garden furniture type shop they sell perforated sheeting for sunshading. Plenty of campers use it & it is strung over markets as well. It is effective because the perforations allow the rising heat to pass through it.
I have never bothered with it tho, a shady pitch & a garden brolly works for me.
Thanks Tentz. I have picked a site with well shady pitches or they say that they are. Will go and get a perforated sheet when we get to spain,if we need too. Lets hoping it sunny in july.
Thanks so much
Wew have no problem with our tigris on Spain, if it is too hot in the tent, just find an air conditioned bar. Most camp sites in Spain have plenty of shade available. When are you going, as the temp varies with the seasons? We normally go to El Delfin verde, which is not far away from Pals. Thers is a nice naturist beach at Pals if it gets that hot.

We are going last week in july (22nd).Thought we may be the only ones on the camp site with a polyester tent.Loving the bit about the bars with shade but naturist beach, i think not..... think i will stick to my tankini's and shade. Lets hope the weather is lovely.
Betty boop, There is a garden centre just off the roundabout on the Pals side of Torrella del Montgri just down the road from Pals who stock a large variety of the shade netting!
