Have seen on club web site trips to the dutch bulb fields various dates starting soon.The question I am asking has anyone been on one in the past and if they are good value..or is it better and cheaper to plan yourself.

We simply went there., it wasn't hard ! 

 Went out from Harwich to Hook of Holland, saw a bit of Holland as well as Keukenhof and the bulb fields, then drifted down to see two or three of the fine Belgian cities, and then down to Dover for ferry home. Just check on the dates of Dutch public holidays like Ascension Day, Queen's Day etc as the whole world is out and about at those times.

Its the way we started when we first went to France years ago. Its questionable whether they are good value though as I am sure you could arrange it all yourself for less. But I suspect cost is not the main consideration for people that go on such holidays as they like the prospect of things being organised for them. Berriow's suggestion of the Keukenhof Gardens is a very worth while one and you won't be disappointed.

Having recently lead a similar Tour i nitially I thought they were expensive having always been a lone ranger. I can only state from my own experience that it was excellent value for money, The particular tour that I went on was just about 'all inclusive' and the itinery was more like what you would expect to find on a luxury cruise. We wereucky we also had a great bunch on the Tour and we have made some firm friends, yes more expensive but I would certainly do it again

It's always cheaper doing it yourself. Whether it is better or not is debatable really. Personal choice. We would do it ourselves.
