Forgot about our second trip to France for 10 days early September - well, the DFDS ferry prices were so cheap with the show code that it was rude not to book. Then we've also got the free DLP tickets courtesy of Sky so we're including a visit there on this trip. Just hope that by then we can still afford the diesel for the 800 mile round trip to Dover!

Well, we were going 'somewhere' in France, or even Spain - but OH has just been offered some contract work which is rather too good to turn down. It only lasts for three months, but we probably won't be able to go as planned in May. This year was the first time we were going to be able to get away for a whole month.
We'll still fit in the Paris weekend, though, and won't lose out on our James Taylor tickets! We may just extend the August trip to be six weeks or may go earlier, and see our friend in his house in France when he's actually there during the school holidays!
It has to be done Val go for it
John
Fortunately we too booked with DFDS and so we can amend both our return crossings free of charge, and we've until the 30th June to decide on the 'second' holiday. By then OH should have finished his contract, and we'll be better able to decide how long we can go for.

Chantilly May, Loire June, Chantilly August and September. Isn't it great being retired and having a son in law with an apartment 20 miles North of Paris.
Well there has got to be some good points to being an OAP.

No fixed route, but Rouen, Blois,Auvergne, Provence then up the eastern side alpes/jura to Alsace and home.
If we like where we are, then may stay a long while, so have to replan a bit...that is the joy of wandering.
In the autumn will be trying out the trailer tent in Northern Climes...have been buying thermals in anticipation.
