We're visiting Luxembourg in June, we're staying at Camping Birkelt using the ACSI card. I'm really looking forward to it
Turkey and lapland last year... Luxembourg this year... oh dear...

We've had to cut back on our holiday spend this year due to home improvements! So we are having cultural holidays this year! We are planning a short but busy trip to Paris and Bruge and thought why not extend to Luxembourg for some relaxation.  I've contacted the tourist board and have some interesting leaflets, I've already planned a visit to the mine museum as my son will enjoy it.  The village we are staying in has a castle and some interesting walks, there's a petting zoo nearby and maybe plan a relaxing morning stroll round Lux city.  We're only there 4 nights and I think that's plenty to do, the campsite has a swimming pool and kids entertainment.

We enjoy visiting new places whether it's for culture, skiing, wildlife, history etc and can enjoy ourselves in our own company.  We've even spent 2 wks on a small island in the Maldives (pre kids)......nothing gets more boring than that (I'd happily go back).  We've also spent 1 wk in the Scottish Highlands camping and it rained all week!

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

Some sites are very expensive at around £40 per night. Some are unsuitable for twin-axle caravans. Others take TA vans but want an additional 25-40 Euros per night on top of the normal fee. Others have bizarrely low amperage EHU such as 3amp.

That is not unique to Luxemburg. There are quite a few sites in France which charge additional fees for TA vans, and no less than you quoted. Also there are sites in other countries which are unsuitable for TA vans and as for low EHU amperage at 3amp? We had that on a site in Holland, and moreover, 4 or 6amp is quite common on a lot of sites in different countries.

We're spoilt over here with the likes of the 2 clubs with 16amp, you don't get that very often abroad.
