Greetings,

I hope you will allow a humble 'tugger' to post on here.

We have just returned from a rather showery? three weeks in France and, on both ends of the holiday, used the excellent facilities at the Camping du St Claire which I know is well used by both motorhome owners and caravanners alike on their way to, and returning from, their hols on the Continent.

Whilst there, we became aware of  groundworks being done at the end of the site adjacent to the road and in the field adjacent to the campsite. As the spoil from the works was put onto the end of the campsite it became obvious that the family that owned the campsite had some say in the work being carried out.

It transprires that the family are creating an Aire de Camping Car which will be up and running from 1st March 2013. The owner went on to say that it would be a twelve months a year operation which would, I imagine, be well received by those motorhomers en route to winters away in Spain and Portugal.

Kind of you to put that on. I have yet to stop on an aire, but stayed on the grottiest campsite at Rouen in the winter a couple of years ago - it was the only thing available in the area.

Greetings Minicamper,

This Aire  is in a very quiet part of the town of Neufchatel en Bray and, in addition to it being next to a cycle path that leads all the way to Dieppe, has the added advantage of being about 250mts from a Le Clerc supermarket (with a garage selling fuel and gas), 300 mts from a Lidl and 500mts from an Aldi. It's not very far from their to the town centre itself.

This would be useful on the Camping Abroad section too, if webby sees it.

Easy to get to, a couple of miles off the motorway but just follow the 'camping' signs you will spot off either Neufchatel exit from A28.

Agree with above! As a newbie is there a section of this forum where useful site stuff can posted - in addition to site reviews?

Not specially, iggy. But if it's in the 'abroad' section you are more likely to find it. I might send a message to the mods later.

just a thought though. If a site is listed on here (and if it isn't, it is easy to do), add it to your virtual brochure, and you can write notes to it.

FOA Minicamper - Just for future reference what was the name of the awful site in Rouen as we pass through that way some winters?

Pollyanna

We weren't impressed with Camping Bel Air at Louviers (top of hill) when we stayed (just the once!) in summer 2012. It was quite run down and apart from the relatively steep prices and the secure code barrier, itinerants would feel quite at home there. IIRC we paid nearly EUR40 for a family of five.

We have found the municipal at Pont L'Arche very agreeable (better all round experience for half the money and a very helpful site manager) for an overnight stay, but this year have booked Camping St Claire, Neufchatel en Bray (main site)as it better suits our return tunnel crossing time.

J

The aire at Neufchatel was open last year. It is barriered, has 14 places and costs 14euros for 24 hours. I'm fairly sure that wifi was included. Sainte Claire is very busy and you need to arrive early.
