At Colmar - well, in the hills a little way - we like Camping les Verts Bois at Freland. French owner whose camp bar serves as a meeting point for locals, and whose Thai wife will cook Asian food if you wish. It's small and affordable.
We stayed in a fantastic campsite in Bavaria. It's called Lech Camping, in Augsberg. I reviewed it on this website but I can't figure out how to copy the link.
This is a wonderful area to base yourself to see Augsberg, one of the oldest, best preserved cities in Germany. You're also near Munich, the river Danube and an area called the Romantic Road which consists of a route with castles, historical villages and other places of interest.
There's a supermarket across the road and a regular bus into Augsberg, so you can leave your campervan on site if you want to.

Not far from Colmar is a town/village called Schiltach, there is a campsite there very small but superb and not expensive, the site restaurant is too die for the food is superb and again very reasonable.
