We stayed there, some time ago now though - so perhaps too long ago to be valid, which is why I didn't post earlier, but we thought it rather nice. We had a lovely big pitch, the toilet block was heated (end of season) and the bar/restaurant rather atmospheric in an old-fashioned way. There were lots of friendly ducks who seemed to do the rounds in the mornings - probably living in the 'moat' or whatever. When we were there (pre any of the UKCS reviews) the pool area was quite new and to us, very swish - but as I say it's a long time ago. We were in our own caravan and access was easy enough. I can't say I noticed any particular road or rail noise, but we were younger then and those things didn't bother me as much as they do now!
There were a lot of 'Tour operators' and I'm afraid I don't remember what pitches they used, but we were in an area which was purely tourers.
It's interesting that the older reviews (I think it was family owned when we were there) are generally better than the ones from last year.
