Bring a French adaptor for your EHU. In France you will find both European EHU connection (same blue one as in Britain) but also purely french ones, sometimes both at the same sites (half of the pitches one type, other half the other type.
Apparently the adapter sold in britain provide for both French and German connection (middel plus side earth connection)
For the remainder, read the many threads in france in this section first: about yes/no reservation, municipal campsites, toll roads/N-roads, Milau bridge etc.
Where in france would you like to go. Many English go the the Vendee, but there are other beautiful regions too, like Auvergne/Perigord, Dordogne, Pyrennees, Vercors, Tarn area, Cevennes, Alps and PreAlps, Alsca Lorraine, Brittany. Take one or two areas and you wil get more specifc information on theat area, routing and campsites.
Caravanning is not problem at all, other than taking account of hill climbs like anywhere.
