We usually stay in the caravan club certificated sites, does anyone know if there are any sites on a similar basis in Spain or maybe France. Looking on the web they all seem to be really big sites with anything between 100 to 1500 spaces on a site.
We tend to stay in adult only sites but can't seem to find any of these either.
Any info gratefully received.

There are three Spanish sites on the campsite search on this website, which are 'Adult only see here
Any other smaller sites or adult only sites you are likely to find are those set up by British ex-patriates on their own plots. They may well advertise in magazines such as the Caravan Club or similar. I think the Spanish like larger sites, in general, with plenty going on, and certainly not 'Adults only' which I don't think is a concept they Spanish would think about - given that children stay up to all hours as part of the family!!

Most of the campsites in Spain are on the coast & fairly large. Inland sites in Spain are quite thin on the ground. France though is completely different. There are plenty of inland sites & many are fairly basic, ie just toilets/showers/ehu but very nice in rural locations.
If you haven't been before you need to choose an area of France or Spain you want to visit & then research sites in that area. No adults only sites as such but go outside school hols & sites will be peaceful enough.

There are plenty of smaller sites if you get away from the coastal areas ...
A string of good, small sites all along the Spanish side of the Pyrenees .... and, of course, every town/city has a site ... so if visiting Leon, Valladolid, Salamanca, Sevilla, Cordoba, Granada, Pamplona, etc etc etc ... you'll find plenty of sites.
here are three useful web links:
