We've camped in France for the last 10+years. We've only had one stinker - wet and cool and that was our first year in Normandy. Since then we've experienced everything from monsoon downpour (while travelling twixt sites), golfball sized hail stones (just for 1 hour one night, mid France)and 40 degrees overnight for 2 weeks (don't even breathe on me)and everything else in between. Generally better within 10 miles of the coast on the Vendee.
Nothing is predictable, even in the UK. If the weather is coming from the West then for those of us in Yorkshire, it has to climb over the Pennines - an obstacle for most!
Fingers are crossed for late July early August.

Last August it was baking hot in Dordogne. We went around 15th. It was over 40 every day. Evenings and mornings cool however, just baking between 10 and 10. Had planned an emergency get out elsewhere if rain stopped play - didn't need it!
