Can anyone recommend a good campsite in Holland or Belgium? We have booked a ferry to Rotterdam and are returning from Zebrugge. We have two children ages 8 and 6 and will be staying in our vw campervan.
Ideally we’d like a swimming pool – we’re not bothered about entertainment or kids clubs. We are travelling in August.
I’ve done lots of research on the internet but just can’t decide what to go for.
Ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks J

Take a look at the Camping Cheque website - there are 6 sites in Holland which accept Camping Cheques all season, meaning a pitch for two adults, campervan, awning, and electricity will be just £13.95 per night (www.campingcheque.co.uk). This could be useful if you decide to 'tour' and stay on a variety of sites.
One site, 't kuierpadtient looks to have lots of things going on for children, including an indoor pool, a covered children's play area, bouncy castles, and even an artificial ski-slope. You have to pay a supplement for the children on top of the Camping Cheque and it's hard to find out how much this is from the campsite's own website. It can be between two and eight euros per child - but you'd pay this anyway on top of the 'standard' site tariff.
Here is another mega place for kids.I know VAl is top notch re Camping Cheques, but i would double check if they are acceptable through mid August. There seems to be a bit of doubt as to whether it is late August only.

The dates when they're accepted are shown on both the website, and in the Camping Cheques book - but an email to them wouldn't go amiss as they do sometimes get things wong!
Hiya - Have you looked at De Lisle Bergen in Belgium? Its a Fab site! We've been twice because we loved it so much, as did our children who were 9 and 5 last year.Search in the threads and I'm sure you'll find some useful info. It doesn't have a swimming pool but does have a lake and a man made beach. It also has an amazing play park, some of it being in the water. There's also tennis, football, ping pong, go-carts to hire - honestly its amazing and they don't rip you off. There's a family disco once a week and different things on during the day. A soup van comes round in the morning and a couple of times a week there is a cooked chicken stall - well worth trying. Lots of supermarkets nearby and there are also a couple of theme parks within easy driving distance. Let me know if you need anything else!

I'll check the dates with the site. Love the look of depaal too. Have you visited it Ajay?
Thank you both for your responses btw. Very helpful.
Yes we've been. Though the web site is all in Dutch, you can look round by clicking everywhere. On site of course they speak excellent English. We were very impressed with the whole site, everything run very professional. If you are taking a campervan, you may need bikess, but in Holland hire is readily available. The sand park is about the most incredible thing we've ever seen. Big as a football pitch and there are forts, gold mines, rivers, etc to stimulate the kids while you sit on the grass around watching.
Local little towns are very charming. Pick which country you bob into for the cheapest fuel.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. We’ve now booked 5 nights at Koningshof in the West and then went for the remainder at De Paal. It really does look like a great site and we’re all very excited about it! We loved the look of Lilse Bergen too Tracey and Steven and it was a tough decision!.....(Enjoy camping de la plage – we stayed there a few years ago – lovely site and fab beach!)
Counting down now……thanks again to everyone who replied – I’m really glad I posted.
Sound great gusthebus - enjoy! Remember to leave a review on your return, we quite fancy going back to Belgium and/or Holland. This site is Fab, full of really helpful people.
And thanks, I'm sure we will enjoy Camping de la plage, only 26 sleeps
