We're hoping to spend a day at Puy du Fou in August but were wondering if it's worth getting a ticket for the evening cinescenie show, or is the standard "organs of fire" evening show (which is included in the normal ticket price) just as good?

The Organs o fire you mention is a new one on me. It was on when we were there last so don't know anything about it. As for the cinescenie show. I wouldn't miss it for the world. I thought it was stunning.
The cinescenie is breathtaking. It starts after dark and is just a stunning mixture of lights and sounds and drama. Hundreds of local people, including children act out scenes from French History. There are displays of battles and horsemanship, and dancing in the lake; there is a chateau which changes its appearance all night from laser lights. It is just amazing. But, whether or not you'd get tickets at this late stage is the question.. They only put on the shows on Friday and Saturday nights, because of the children. We've been twice and I'd love to go again - my whole family would given the chance.
The organs of fire was fabulous too - but get there early or you'll not get a decent place to stand let alone a seat.
We went and spent the day there last year, ts. Busy busy day, we wanted to do the nighttime sow too but it had sold out, so when we go this year we are just do the evening show which as others have said its meant to be fab..we booked online a few months back

The day show is fantastic for all members of the family.
The evening show is amazing but my family was satisfied with only seeing it once.
Take a picnic and get there early as there is lots to see and enjoy.
Save money on drinks...take them (plenty)in with you. I think it's three years since we visited but they certainly knew how to charge for those 'extras'.
La Guyonniere do sell the tickets, can't recall I'd hey are discounted. It may be too late if you are waning to see he evening sow as we tied to book on site last year and it was all sold out. We have now ordered online
