Sorry for the appalling grammar in the title, wanted to be quite specific! Am interested in the views of people who have been to Les Peupliers in the Tarn in high season. What in the way of daytime activities and evening entertainment is there? We aren't great drinkers and partiers and perhaps it might suit rather better than a big all singing all dancing site with a full activity programme. We'd probably want a few bits going on during the day for the days we want to stay on site, maybe craft activities for the kids or boules or something, then maybe something low-ish key of an evening a few nights.

Thanks

In high season there used to be an 'Animateur' in the afternoons who organised activities for the children - but I think spoke only French.   They did all sorts of 'rushing about the site activities' gathering stuff for a treasure hunt, and seemed to be having a good time - but mostly younger children. There is some evening entertainment, but low key and usually not very noisy, and only on some nights.  We've been there from the second week in August onwards, one year, and didn't notice that it was particularly noisy -- but do remember the great night we had winning 'Who wants to be a Millionaire' (first game) but then giving the wrong answer to the Million Pound question in the next round!  (We were 'very, very drunk').  And I think the top prize was just a bottle of wine, rather than a Million!

There is a kids club for younger ones, and a games area with trampolines, etc.,, which does get well used.

We stayed there in August 2010. You can view some photos of the site that I took at the time here.

There was a full schedule of daily activities available but this is certainly not an all singing and dancing site. I think there was a disco or band one night, a Paella evening, bingo and a boules competition each week. Children's activities were based around two marquees near the reception.

You can take or leave as much of the activities as you like and I think the evening activities finished by 11:00pm. The camp site is quiet away from the reception area. Teenagers tended to congregate by the river, in the football area or in the bar.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Went to this site a few years back and it can get very busy in high season. They tend to cram as many in as they can, vans park on the football pitches. The pool can be busy and rowdy at times but the French owners soon crack the whip when any sign of rowdiness is brewing.

Fantastic location though, the kids will love the safe river but just be careful with them if you take some of the canoeing trips. The river can be a bit wild further upstream and will almost certainly capsize your canoe.

A full programme of enterainment is ran but mostly for younger children. A weekly disco is a bit noisy if you have little ones trying to sleep but nothing you cant cope with.

Overall the family loved this site and the nearby Gorges.
