Hi, I think the tunnel is junction 11a on the M20 heading from London. Is that junction accessible from the Dover side of the M20 though or do I need to get off at junction 12?

Thanks

Wes

Their website says that 11a is their dedicated junction, so you should be able to access it from north and south.

What I have always wondered is, how do you access the place from non motorway? We just swish down the M20 and in, but presumably there might be a time when it is more convenient not to use the motorway?

Hi Wes,

Yes the tunnel is junction 11A & the short answer is no you cannot access it by coming of at junct 12 coming from the direction of Dover, you'd have to continue along the M20 to junc 11 &  & "U" turn back down the M20 to exit at junc 11A.

From your location, S Croydon, it would be easier to travel south on the A23, join the M23, join the M25 anti clockwise towards the Dartford crossing, exit M25 at junc 5, onto M26, continue M26 & join M20 at junc 3 & continue to junc 11a

You can also do it here from the A20 not on a motorway. This is the way we do it if we sleep overnight in Hythe.

Thanks. I'll be travelling from where the van is stored in Whitstable so will head down the A2, across the A260 and so will be travelling West.

You can indeed access from jct 12. just get onto the A20 and there is signposts for it from that way. Slip road leads you onto the same 11A slip raod that directly leads from M20

You may be just as easy as heading towards Ashford and joining southbound M20 however
