Or Not happy.
Arrived safely at plymouth sound CC site on Mon 23/7 with ferry booked for Wed 25/7 15.00hrs. However on Tu 26/7 I asked Cary to put hay fever drop in my eye but she put in her contact lens cleaner by mistake. Despite washing out Very painful. Went to Derrford hosp A&E PATHETIC LONG waits & only seen by nurse who washed out eye & put in anaesthetic drop.DDrop lasted only 10 mins.
Contacted red pennant Trish wonderful rebooked later ferry & found Plymouth Eye Hosp for next day. What a difference quickly seen by nurse who referred me Dr. Dr found 2mm scratch on centre eye & gave drops & ointment.
Eye now healing & ferry rebooked again for Tue 31 at 08.00. RP brilliant phoned ever day & covered large costs of ferry rebookings and costs of extended stay at Plymouth. We have to pay for 5 unused days at Du Letty.
Have to stay out sunlight & Cary will have to drive as vision still very blurred. Cest la vie.

Hard luck having your holiday delayed but glad there is no permanent damage to your eye and that the insurance has done its job. I'm sure you'll enjoy your holiday all the more once you get there.
Poor you, perhaps the scratch was there first, which was why it was so painful when you got the wrong drops in. Can't be too careful with your sight though.
Enjoy your holiday, and tell us all about it when you get back please!
sorry to hear about your problems - makes you glad to have the insurance cover. Hope you enjoy your holiday once the French leg kicks off!!
Been a previous visitor to Du Letty I was wondering if I need to be concerned with reverse polarity? I'm heading to Du Letty in mid august (first time touring in france) and have read that some sites reverse polarity. Any advice appreciated, thanks, Sean

THANKS everyone for the good wishes!
My eye continues to improve no longer painful just blurred vision. Loss of time at Du Letty is frustrating as we had agonized about cancelling following Cary recently becoming unemployed. Still as Christians we believe God has purpose in it!
To Sean re EHU. DL uses Continental 2 pin sockets & provide free loan of lead to convert to standard cvan connector. Polarity is decided by which way staff member plugs in Fr plug so check for cvan supply before he leaves you. AlDi recently had suitable socket tester or for any electrical supplier.
We started our Continental touring at DL in1994!
Come & say hello at DL we shoulder in Les mouettes 7.
BEST wishes

Sorry to hear about your eye problems Tim, glad you're sorted now. We're arriving at letty on 7th so will have a wander and try to say hello. No idea where we'll be as booked with C&CC.
