NO, Motability cover with the RAC is UK only. There is a number you can ring at the RAC to get additional cover for your car and caravan though, but you will have to pay extra. See loads of threads on here for alternative Euro breakdown cover from about £45 quid upwards.

You will also need to ring the RAC (number on Motability website) to get a form that gives you permission to take the car out of country. It doesn't cost anything and is valid for a year.

Finally, no need to worry about normal car insurance as that is covered your Motability insurance.

Hope that helps

We haven't towed our van abroad yet (did a canvas tent) and hubby rung motability to advise we were going abroad for the insurance. They gave us a number to ring to get european cover (cost us (£45). You can also get free crossings on the dartford tunnel, either show them your tax disc or like we've done, fill in a form enclosing a copy of the logbook (you have to request that from motability) and they add you to their system so they automatically let you through free

I take my van to France at least twice a year towed by my mobility car. Your mobility insurance will cover you in France but the breakdown you have to extend. However check that your van is covered before signing up. I had to take breakdown cover elsewhere as the RAC has width and length restrictions that are quite mean.

Jane can you clarify a bit,I've got motability car and normally use red pennant breakdown as as you say RAC got limits on length of caravan can I ask who you went with because will get personal insurance seperate and could be lot cheaper this way then red penant.
