Just returned back from Village Parisean on the outskirts of paris and on leaving the site have been outrageously scammed by the owners. We have been travelling to France for over 20 years now and have stayed in the sites own mobile homes more often than not. On leaving the practice is always to clean your home to avoid paying the cleaning cost. as ususl we did this to the usual spotless standard. The owner then came to inspect at the designated time. He then said the mobile home was dirty pointing to a bit of mud on the floor the HE haid just walked in. We pointed this out to him, he laughed in our faces and said no, He them complained of bubbles in the sink, this was from the just finished cleaning the work tops (suds) unbeleivable he als said there was dust down the side of the fridge, What does he think we should be doing taking the fridge out. We also were only given three chairs on the decking area for four of us, We asked at reception 3 times but did not recieve it at all. Also a lot of the light fittings in the van were broken, We will probably get a bill for them next. Do we have any course of action against these people who were quiet obviously out to fleece people.

I just have, It will hopefully be posted later, There are other things i have raised about this site on my review that needs looking into as well, Absolutely horrendous treatment.
P2tent - how much did it cost you? Sometimes these cleaning deposits are quite high - but from my son's experience as a Canvas Holidays courier sometimes mobiles are left in a filthy mess so you can see why sites want to charge. However, if you had an argument then it's hard to see what you could do 'after the event' - perhaps you could have taken some photographs and take it up with the local Syndicat d'Initiative (Office de Tourisme), who do sometimes intervene in these sorts of cases.
Friends, staying at a house in the Lot, had a series of serious complaints, and they were taken up by the Syndicat d'Initiative, and the owner told that he couldn't take bookings for his house until the problem areas were remedied. Perhaps even the threat of mentioning it to the local Syndicat might do the trick for anyone else having a similar problem.

Hi the week cost around €600 and the cleaning was quite low, Only €30 but it was the fact the mobile home was cleaned and what he was saying was outright lies but we couldn't do anything but just accept it as we had the euro tunnel to catch. we did take photos in front of the manager so he could see us doing it.We didn't argue with him we just put our point across that he was wrong but he just smiled.
We've stayed in cheap hotels in all sorts of places in Europe and Asia - some of them really cheap - and never dreamed of cleaning the room ourselves. The same goes for B&B's in UK, static caravans in Australia, and motels in New Zealand. Where does this idea of doing one's own cleaning come from ? Not my idea of a holiday.

This is common practice im afraid throughout European camp-sites. I suppose its to stop people wrecking them and also to help with quick turn arounds to save on cleaners. It normally works well as you know what your getting in to. its not normally an issue.

Thanks for that, I have emailed them both and the campsite directly with my complaint. Normally i wouldn't be bothered with an issue like this and the €30 is not the issue but they were just plain taking the mickey and i want other people not to have to go through this, They were rude and totally dismissive of us.
Have they actually charged you the 30€ or refused to give you your deposit back? I would be seriously unhappy too, I think it's taking the mickey to suggest that the dust down the side of the fridge is your doing! That surely takes weeks to accumulate, not a few days. Good luck, keep us posted!
Owners like that usually get found out and lose business as recurring reviews highlight same issues. Annoying but chalk it up and find somewhere that looks after and values its campers!

They had already taken the money as part of the payment, As i have said the money was not the issue im not really bothered. I just want people to be aware of what they are doing.
