The bigger the ferry the more inconsiderate, loud troublesome customers it can take, as well as the longer load/unload times. Give me half an hour in my own car with OH dog and tin tent behind us and a quick load/unload. Tesco vouchers reduce the cost and we have always be offered an earlier shuttle. But each to their own, it would be very boring if we were all the same. We will be on a shuttle on Monday afternoon on route to Switzerland via Epinal or somewhere near on Tuesday.

We went out on Thurs 30th Aug, booked on the 18.50. We arrived at 16.40. The auto check in seems to only offer the train you're booked on and the one before, so we chose that and resigned to wait. Parked up, went to the loo, then decided to go straight to loading. Only waited a couple of minutes in the lane, when they sent us on. So exactly 1 hour after arriving at the check in, we drove off in France!

Not so coming home Wed 19th Sept booked on the 09.50. Arrived in good time for earlier crossings, accepted the previous to our booking, and went straight through, with minimal checkings, it was pretty quiet. Then we waited ages in the lane, eventually got on our train minutes before it was due to leave, then it was delayed by nearly 10 minutes. I got the feeling that the previous train had been cancelled, it wasn't on the boards, and we were there in plenty of time to get on it.

Through the Caravan Club we paid £196 return for 8 metre caravan and car going April coming home end of June. Fantastic value for service we think. Never travel any other way.

We had a 1 hour delay going to france on eurotunnel this summer and due to the queues at check-in/border control french side when coming home we missed our check-in slot so the next train available was 1 hour 40mins later. I complained when we got home and got £49 towards our next trip which is now booked - result!!

Went out on Saturday the 8th Sept, 10.20 departure, weren't offered an earlier train because we were told they were all full up, fair enough, but boarded ok and in fact train left 5 mins early.

Returned 15th Sept, 14.20 departure, arrived at self-check in just after 13.00 and chose to take earlier train 13.50, followed cars in front and next thing I knew we were going down the ramp to load onto a train and ended up catching the 13.20 an hour earlier than planned, and the train was half empty.
