We have spent two great holidays in Domaine de Massereau, a Castel site in the south of France, but I'm just having a look at Spain for next year. Primarily because we find France so expensive for eating out, and have heard that Spain is more reasonable.
Appreciate your views on this.
Also, looking at a site which is Barcelona, Girona type area, where our kids will not be the only Brits. They will be 7 and 9 and sea is not a must, but pool slides are. Castell Montgri is sounding good.
All advice appreciated - thank you.

we're off to Castell Montgri on Friday, first time so will try and get online and give you our verdict. We did originally book Camping Playa Brava as it's next to the sea, but changed to CM for the better pools and slides, so excited

I have just book at Aquarius Camping. Area is Costa Brava. We have a large pitch which is costing about 50euros a night but they do cheaper ones. Seems to have everything for kids as I have a 3yr old

Have a look at www.vilanovapark.com. Easy to get to Barcelona by public transport (bus outside site, then train.) Excellent site, there are sure to be plenty of Brits. Fuel, food, beer, ice cream etc cheaper than in France. We've camped all over France and Spain and have not found Spanish campsites any more expensive, and they are often better. For one thing, they always have nice toilets with seats and paper, which in our (very wide) experience is not always the norm in France! The pitches are also a good size, despite what others may say.

Torre Del Sol (See review), good site - they do day trips to Barcelona which we did. We have just come back from Valencia and certainly its cheaper to eat out (we have for the last 3 years been going to Italy), we tend to do Menu of the Day, 10 to 12 euros for a 3 course meal plus wine.
As for site prices, I can't say there is much of a difference from France or Italy or Spain, you tend to get what you pay for.
