Having had a great hols in france this year I can now spend the coming weeks planning next years. I am looking for a stop over campsite betweenVierzon/Montlucon/Clermont Ferrand not far from the E11. I have had a look on the campsite search but it is not very helpful for this area. We could look at a Hotel but we are a family of 5 and would need two rooms which adds to the expense so would prefer a site. Can anyone help.
Thanks

We are staying at camping le Filature which is in the area you are looking at, you can pay with touring cheques out of season which cost about £13 for a nights pitch plus electric, i think they have a website if you google we are going from Dunkerque to Agde next saturday and this is where we plan our overnight stop, J x

A few years back we stopped at Camp Municipal Le Mont Libre
in Gannat, pleasant little site north of Clermont Ferrand off the A719 west of Vichy. Good facilities and a funny little hexagon swimming pool. You have reminded me so will enter a site review! We too were on on the way to Languedoc area!
Hope you find what you are looking for!

Is the touring cheque a Camping Cheque, Vacansoleil cheque or some thing else?
Hi
We are aiming to stop at St. Amand-Montron as this is roughly half way between our first night stop at Abbeville and Marseillan, near Agde. They accept the ACSI card. La Roche

You can get touring cheques from the eurocamp independent site, we just have 2 left from last year when we stayed on a site in Switzerland which we aim to use up as they last 2 years, they will usually do a good deal if you book your ferry with them and most of their sites are of good quality.Jx
There is a great little municipal between Vierzon and Bourges at Mehun sur yevre we did an overnight stop there en route to the Pyrenees this year, pitch and electric for five people for 16 euro's its just of the main drag through the town.Excellent facilities very clean. We will definitely use again if passing the area in future.Site doesn't have a website but the town website shows some pics and details.
