We are doing Lake Garda next year by car.

Obv going to be stopping off both ways. But on the way home was thinking about doing 3 days in another campsite (static caravans0 somewhere 4/5 hours away from Calais. But I can't seem to pinpoint anywhere.

Don't really want France because for the last 2 years we have driven down to the South so next year would like to drive Germany/Belgium way instead.

Can anyone recommend anyway?

Also, my head is hurting trying to book a site at the Lake.

We need something family friendly, but I have a fear of really big sites due to having 3 kids who need specific boundaries laid down.

Any recommendations here too??

Thank you!

Hi there,

Camping Fontanelle could be a good option as it's nice and small (180 pitches) but has good facilities and is in a wonderful location on the south west shore of the lake.  Direct access to a pebbly lake beach as well and a great pizzeria.  There's also Camping Fornella which is a bit bigger (380 pitches) or Camping Eden (300 pitches) but are still a lot more manageable than some of the really big sites round there.

Camp Bad Liebenzell (Germany) could be an option for breaking up the journey, or maybe even camping Birkelt in Larochette (Luxembourg).

Hope this helps and good luck with your search!

Gertie100 Try this site Prumtal Camping, Oberweis just a few miles from Bitburg. They have some excellent chalet type caravans just 2 years old. It is in an excellent position to visit Luxembourg and the Mosel Walley visiting Trier or Bernkastel Kues. This being the Eifel Area of Germany very similiar to the Cotswolds. You will find all details of the site on this websites campsite list in Germany
