We would like some recommendations for a site or 2 in the dordogne area, it needs to have good pool preferably with a slide or 2, entertainment and kids club, a park for the kids and supermarket and maybe a resteraunt.. Any recommendations? We had to weeks in de yole in the languidoc region this year and would like to try the dordogne area but we are thinking of doing 1 week at 1 site and 1 week at another? They don't both have to be in the dordogne but do need to be hot hot hot! Oh yeh we will hopefully be upgrading from glamping to caravaning next year too :)

hi tetchy
i dont know if it will fulfil all of your requirements but we have just stayed at les iles in the dordogne region, it is a flowers site and can be found on their website. we stayed for 5 nights and it was an ok site .... we only paid 12 euro's a night and it was well worht that.
when i am looking for a site i tend to look on the keycamp, eurocamp canvas etc websites as they give you a good overview and there is usually space for campers to .... hope you find one
------------- A tent is like a newborn born baby..... to some they all look the same..... but if its yours it's beautiful.

Not been because we are old fogeys who like simple municipals, but this one looks like the sort of thing you may like. Also if you are going out of the main season it takes the ACSI Camping Card.
we and the children have enjoyed Les peneyrals and la soilel both fairly near Sarlet. The latter has direct river access but both are high quality sites with excellent facilities.Weve usually been in a motorhome and havnt used the kids club but at Les p as they are run by the English type operators and to use them you have to book with them.

Les Peneyrals is a great site for younger children. Indoor pool for those odd cooler days and 2 other pools, plus the new young childrens water play area/pool.
The kids club run by the campsite is open to everyone and runs in high season. This year run by 1 French and 2 Dutch girls who were great
newbie73 Does anyone know when Les Peneyrals will open for 2013 bookings? I've tried emailing several times but had no response so far.
At Les Peneyrals, they go on holiday immediately after the season finishes - about 10th September this year, so I wouldn't expect to hear anything from them for another month or so
