Hi! We are thinking of going to Brittany next year - our first trip abroad with our caravan! Anyone suggest a nice site near to the coast/beach that is not too big as don't wish to be surrounded by small children - our children teenagers now and not sure yet if they want to come with us or not. A pool would be nice. Thanks.

Unfortunately those sites that have pools tend to have small children???
At the risk of spoiling 'my' site for future visits, I can recommend the municipal at Sable D'or Les Pins (Camp Municipal La Saline).
It's within 300yds of a small but well stocked Supermarche and about 800yds flat walk to the sea.

May well be bigger than you want but this year we went to le letty. It was a great campsite and whilst there were plenty of children ours included there was a big mixture of campers. In our bay of 4 we were the only family, the unit opposite was a French man, there all summer every summer, next to him were a French retired couple again there for the duration and next to us were a middle-aged couple and their handbag dog.
------------- From tents to trailer tents to a tin tent to an air tent to trailer tent and back to tin tent!
I doubt you'll find sites without small children, but it might be worth looking on the Eurocamp website. They have categories of sites: Suitable for younger families, suitable for teenagers, etc.
If you're teenagers decide not to go, and you will be on your own, then almost all sites will have no children outside of the school summer holidays (or perhaps one or two families with 'babies'). We holiday in May/June and then again in late August/September and there are usually very few children around then,

When we went to Le Neptune at Whit a few years ago with our three children (who we took out of school) a whole bunch of faces sank when we arrived on-site -mostly retired Brits who informed us that there weren't usually children on-site, thank you very much.
It took a few days, but by the time we left our children had a whole bunch of honorary aunties and uncles who told us what a joy they had been to have around as they were so well behaved and polite. It made me very proud.
Julie Pooley. It's hard to suggest sites without knowing what you want to see and do in Brittany or what would interest you. Mont St Michel? The pink granite coast? The wild headlands like Pointe du Raz? La Cigale in Nantes? But they are hundreds of miles apart - so I'd say decide which of these places you want to get to and then choose a site nearby. Or even tour around and visit all four?

You should perhaps look around the Carnac/la Trinite sur mer area.
There are several really good sites near beaches, in particular Camping la PLage, Camping les Druids and camping Kervillor. Druids is the smallest of the three, with a pool and is the least bonkers in terms of what it will be like peak season. Having saiid that the other two aren't really all singing / dancing. We're hoping to get to LA Plage ourselves next summer after a week further south. It's right on the beach. Kervillor has bigger pitches and is a nice stroll into LaTrinite but may be a bit further from the beach. Having said that Druids is just a walk into Carnac old town so that may get our vote.
There are other highly regarded sites nearby. It's a handsome part of Brittany and tends to get a bit more sun than you might expect.
