I would like to book this site for next year and I know it gets booked up quickly. I am just wondering if anyone has been and can tell me if the Caravan Club pitches are better than booking direct? From what I can gather the price is about the same. The trouble is I do not know yet who is coming with us and if I book with CC and then want to make amendments they will charge amendment fee but if I book direct I can easily just extra people if need be. So I need to know if there are any other advantages of booking with CC and any other tips for getting booked here?
Thanks
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
From my own experience booking via the Caravan Club does not guarantee that you have a better pitch. The site may well reserve a group of pitches or it might just be a case of what is available that the time you arrive. On one site in Holland they wanted to shove up up the far end of the site miles from the facilities. OK it would have been quiet up there!
From what I've heard it gets booked up really quickly with returners too. We always go to France in the school holidays, would love to try Brasillia but way too expensive for us!
We went to La Brasilia several years ago and had a great time, we booked via Eurocamp and had a fairly small pitch, though it wasnt any better or worser than any others around us.
Last year whilst on our return overnight stop at Grandspette we got talking to our neighbours who had just returned from Brasilia. They were convinced that booking via CC ensured a better pitch. The first year they had booked a pitch via CC and got a lovely big pitch the second year they had booked direct and got a much smaller pitch. They had even made a point of talking to the people on their lovely first year pitch and they had booked via CC. They concluded that CC bagsy the best pitches and the site books out the rest!

We have found that to be true at most sites, always get great pitches booking through either club, apart from the time we went to la ravoire! It was a nightmare pitch, lol.
In our experience this is the opposite. We booked La Garangeoire through C&CC in October last year for the first two weeks of August. I requested a quiet pitch but our allocation had hardly any grass and was right next to the main thoroughfare which was really noisy when the bar kicked out. So IMO, it is best to book with C&CC then call the site to check your allocation.
