Logis insists on speedos and normally you cannot use a charcoal BBQ on pitches there either, we use our small gas BBQ/hotplate outside on our pitch.

Nigelsp - try this Le Logis near Royan - fab pool, waterslides and cheap! Family of five for last two weeks of August is about £300 all in.

 http://www.yukadivillages.com/index.php?p_id=32

Stayed there a couple of years ago and our three kids loved it. Go for pitches near the swimming pool as they are the largest.

Best of luck!

bertie, those two sites are to me like chalk and cheese. Logis has large grassy pitches and looks quieter. L'Oree has small dusty pitches, an excellent pool complex but poor loos and is very noisy at night!

I cannot find a site in the Royan area that ticks all our boxes.

We stayed at Bonne Anse Plage, but in a static, so can't comment on the toilets / showers etc.  The site was big and mostly statics, pool was good, but very busy even in mid June...there's lots going on on the site and entertainment most evenings...we enjoyed it, but it was a bit too noisy for us.

We're trying Sequoia Parc this year which is quite close to Royan...reviews are mixed, but then everyone likes different things...as long as toilets are clean and pitches of a reasonable size, thats all I'm really bothered about...child will like the pools.

hello,
We holidayed in Biscarrose and found it really too hot for cycling, had to take shelter after 11am until 4.00pm, but the night markets were lovely.
Royan area is great for cycling, beaches and markets. We love it and have taken the kids for years.

Stayed at both sites and they are very different ,if you like and would use water complex and evening entertainment L oree would be a good choice, we liked this site in a very busy area but we found we were paying for above but did not use..Logiis has very large pitches nice pool but no slides has restaurant but no evening entertainment .we also found it easier to get to the beaches

Sequioa Parc has really good size pitches for the Atlantic coast and from my memory the washblocks were impeccible. Never had any complaints (and I was Area Manager for a Tour Operator on site, so spent a fair bit of time there over a summer).

Thanks

Sean

We have stayed at L'Oree du bois twice now and if you goto the side with the private touilets - the pitches are small - If you go the other side pitch No 237 is what we stayed on huge pitch - we had a 6.89 caravan plus 3 metre awning inc bed annex and parked the car on the pitch. so certainly not small and the toilet block on this side is lovely. But most of the tourers are on the other side, had a walk round and I wouldnt want to stay that side but can confirm that where pitch 237 is the toilet block is fab - modern, clean and very up to date.
Would add a pic but have no idea how to lol

I agree the new toilet blok is lovely but serves very few pitches. The old loos blocks in my opinion are substandard

I have stayed at L'Oree du Bois a number of times but we always get a pitch with a private bathroom - luxury for us!
The pitches are at the back of the site - you will see how they are set out if you look at the aerial view on Google maps. Being at the back they are more secluded and quieter.
We have always used a gas BBQ on these pitches and nobody has ever bothered us.
