What is this about saying that there are no quiet campsites in Spain?
How do you define quiet? If by quiet you mean that you are not disturbed by other people on the site, are not worried about cars in the campsite and can spend time relaxing on your own pitch, and nights are not disturbed by loud music and disco's then there are quiet sites in spain
If you mean by quiet, you turn up and pitch your tent in field, with no other tents within a 50m radius - they probably exist, however, I have not seen this type of site in Spain
In my experience, Spainsh sites are far cleaner and better maintained than French sites, I have not had a problem with noise in any of the 3 sites I have stayed in Spain - so yes I would classify them as quiet. However, I do have 3 kids, so my definition of a quiet site would be different from a retired couple with no kids

After an evening of consultations a pool takes priority over a beach. sun takes priority over journey times! and peace takes priority of entertainment.
(no need to be next to the sea)
Children are aged 6,11,14 But not party go-ers...
would Italy be the way forward. any view or should this be a new thread. Italy vs Spain???
I love both Spain and Italy. As a keen water sports enthusiast, I love lake Garda in Italy. However, the Bay of Rosas in Spain is pretty good too
I have found that the Spanish sites tend to have better facilities and are cleaner than Italian sites. Also the beach on the Bay of Rosas is brilliant, which is really important for us as a family. The beaches I have seen in Northern Italy are no where near as nice
However, Lake Garda is an awsome place for an activity holiday, with so much to do. As my children get older (now 8, 10 and 14) we will probably consider a non beach holiday in Italy
When considering Spain, since a pool is important, have a look at Nautic Almata, Las Dunas, Balena Alegre 2 and L'amfora
L'Amfora has the best pool complex, but it is a big (and noisy?) site. Nautic Almata has a nice pool, however it is a quiet site.
