Hi, I don't know if anyone can help. I'm currently looking to go camping (tent) in the summer to the Netherlands and have found a site which look promising called TerSpegelt but am struggling to find any reviews - has anyone been or could you recommend sites in the region?
Thanks

There are a couple of English reviews (and dozens of Dutch ones!) on the ACSI website.

TerSpegelt is an ACSI Card site, where the card is acceptable between the following dates:  22/03 to 25/04 and 21/05 to 27/06 then between 17/08 and 26/10, and accepts three children under 6 in the ACSI card rate, so if you can go after the 17th August you could have a very cheap holiday.  See here for details.

On the ACSI Card site the review score (from 66 reviews) is 8.5 out of 10, which is pretty good, and the scores for individual facilities are:

Staff 8.5 Toilet facilities 8.8
Price - quality comparison 8.5 Camping pitch 8.6
Accommodation 8.5 Child friendliness 8.6
Entertainment 8.1 Sports facilities 8.5
Swimming pool 8.5 Food and drink 8.3
Surroundings 8.5

Thanks so much for that - I've emailed the site as we are looking to go from 23rd August so looks good but struggled to find out exactly what the cost would be with two kids 13 and 11.
The scores look promising but I am slightly concerned booking our first abroad camping trip without understanding the reviews!!!!!

You'll pay 16 euros for the pitch, two adults, car and caravan (or tent/whatever), awning, and including electricity.  On top of that you pay the standard rate for an extra person, which is not easy to find from their website, as they quote a different rate for several different blocks of pitches.  Mention that you wish to use an ACSI card and ask how much you'll have to pay on top of the ACSI Card rate.

You'll probably still find it's worth the saving, and if so, buy your ACSI card on a subscription from the Dutch website (www.campingcard.co.uk) as it's only 9.95 euros including postage.

You can always use Google translate to read the reviews:  copy the review, paste it into google translate, and it gives you a rough translation but with such even scores for each facility and an aggregated score of 8.5 I wouldn't worry too much.  If there were reviews which gave the site very low scores on some, such as the sanitary facilities, then I would be more concerned.

What an excellent idea - I didn't think of translating! Thanks for all your help.

No problem, enjoy your holiday!

I thought you might start at the beginning, so here are a few from 2009:

1) We stayed a week at this campsite camping with three children aged 12, 13 and 14 years. It is super clean, beautiful fields with age classification for the children and a great pool. The playgrounds are nice for children under the age of 12 but at the lake are also nice appliances for older children. You are very welcome at the reception and also the park or in the hospitality or retail, everyone very friendly and working hard to make everyone happy. The only downside is that for children aged 12 and little organized. There is all day entertainment for younger children but for teenagers there is only a few days a week activity.

2) We find this yourself the best camping with kids
We come here every year with the grandchildren there is plenty to do for all ages pedalos, kids playgrounds div indoor playground outdoor swimming too numerous to mention for us a thick 9

3) *2010 The campground is very child-friendly, family service, everything you need: adequate play areas for the children, quiet area, good shopping on site, and so on. The bathrooms are well maintained and properly clean. Especially the places around the rowing lake are recommended. Animation for adults and children is available. Fast food and restaurant with ample choice. We have been here for the second time and will be back!
