Hi all, Has anyone out there booked any rally sites for 2013? For the first time in our lives we have! Gone and booked at Les Saules in the Loire Valley. I know the area well and am sure we will have a great time but oh dear not sure about the rally. Not really into the 'red coat' thing!!! Would really appreciate any comments from any of you who have had experience of these events.
Anyway, the snows here which makes me think spring is nearly here and then warmer weather he he just like last year! Stay safe and well and just a thought............Sex at my age (OAP) is like trying to play snooker with a piece of rope!

We've never been on rallies either - but I gather that you can join in, or not, depending on what you feel. If you know the area you can always do your own thing!
Like you we are not red coat campers but have been really impressed by cc and c rallies...though it depends a bit on the organisers.
We went on the rally at Les Saules in 2011 with no real problems though I believe the stewards have now changed so may go back! We have been on 2 others in France and a Spanish rally at Aquarius twice and booked 2 rallies for this year so we are convinced....much more relaxed than other club rallies as people come and go . Also we found the rallies really friendly and inclusive!
Thanks Carrog, makes us feel a little easier. Having thought a little more about it we think it will be an adventure and at least we will be able to do our own thing if things don't pan out. The C.O. is now convinced we are going to enjoy the experience

We have done the La Manga rally a couple of times, and enjoyed it. As you say, you can join in or not, but there are always plenty of friendly folk on the campsite which is nice, and the book swaps always useful!!
we also stayed on another rally site without being on the rally, and folk were still friendly, though we didn't try and join in any of the activities that time.
