We are hoping to go to the Daffodil Festival in Gerardmer April 14 2013, we went to this festival about 12 years ago and have completely forgotten the route and the camps getting there.the festival itself was so memorable though.Has anyone on these forums been to the area of Alsace Lorraine via Calais and Belgium and know any good camps or tips en route.Thankyou Mavis

This is one of our favourite places in France I used to race in Gerardmer a few years ago when they held the Ironman France. Some friends of ours stopped in the sites at the side of the lake but were not too impressed. The sites in the nearby Xonrupt Longmer (may not be spelt correctly) looked very nice but I have no first hand experience.
