Can anyone recommend campsite in the east of paris area? We started to camp in France a couple of years and the kids love it, we want one with a pool and ehu and ideally within a short drive to Disneyland.

Thanks in advance

Jason

Camping des Quatre Vents usually gets highly recommended as a family site, near to Paris.

Another vote for 4 vents. I wouldn't recommend disneyland but it is something that you have to do for the children - once!

Maybe Belle Etoile which is a bit further south, aat Melun, and obviously further away - but if you don't want to be under a flight path you perhaps will have to look further away from DLP.

Or La Croix du Vieux Pont near Soissons, further away still, but does run trips to DLP from the site.

Didn't notice it while I've been there. But it would be ORY not CDG.

We stayed there in the Summer for 4 nights and don't remember any planes and my son is a bit obsessed with planes so would have noticed!

We stay here Le Chene Gris

East of Paris, EHU and Pool, about 20 mins maybe to Disneyland and you avoid the toll road.

We had annual passes for Disney so went 10 days in June 2009 and then 10 days May 2010.

4vents is a lovely site with great pitches, it's only 15mins drive to dlp. It's an ideal base. We really liked the site.

Stayed a few times around Paris and for us 4 vents is by far the best. Planes were not a major issue but just amazing to watch. When first driving to the site I was wasnt impressed by the approach roads but once in the site knew it was a gem.

Tournan en Brie is the nearest station, about a 15 min drive away can easily access Paris and I am sure Disney... car parking is free there.

It is CDG aiport traffic that would fly over but it depends on winds and traffic. Runways 26L and 27right are used but thats after 05.29 am minimum as its on approach restrictions.   The distance verts is away from CDG is some 20 miles so should not really affect

If you use Plane finder you will see that Orly has a holding stack near/above 4 vents. In the times I've looked nothing has flown over and landed at Charles de Gaul. But hey ho you can tell me a time and prove me wrong!

The campsite mentioned at Melun is very convenient with regular trains to paris and then on the underground, the reception is very helpful as regards trains and tips for cheap tickets

Yes there is what is called Francilien tickets if you are doing Disney. They are cheap rate tickets that can be bought, you really need to get them 1 or a few days before day of visit. Depends on how long you are there for.

re plane finder Oliver... I have not a clue, I try to stay well away from planes... when I can

We have stayed at Belle Etoile at Melun and it was ideal for Paris. Bought train tickets at reception which included the bus from outside the campsite to the train station, although its only about a 20 minute walk.
