I agree would not be keen to tow a caravan on the Seefeld to Innsbruck road, not even sure its allowed. Better to go via the Fern Pass.

Hi John   sorry , haven't been that way but it looks ok from the CC handbook.  We tend to stick to the main roads when we have the van behind . Our Emerald is 1300kg so not that heavy, but our 940 is only 2 litre.  Which Bailey do you have?  We are thinking of going for a fixed bed van in 2 or 3 years time when we retire, looked at a Senator Wyoming (just on paper) liked the layout, must have my big shower room.  Too heavy for our present Volvo , so need to get a new car then too.

Re sites     the only ones we have been to in the area you mention are Camping Gritt near Ettelbruck in Luxembourg and Camping Heilbronn-am-Breitenauer-See near Heilbronn, listed under Lowenstein in the CC European handbook.

Stayed at Mittenwald but not on the site you have booked (??).  The one we were on is no longer listed (not surprised). Lots of sites at Garda, we used Camping Fornella and it was fine. Nice pool.

If you haven't booked Mittenwald then I can recommend Schlosscamping Volders near Hall in Tirol if you want to visit Innsbruck.  Quite near the Schwarovski factory.

if I take the Fern Pass instead of Innsbruck and over the Brenner route to Garda, have either of you any experience of the Landeck, Pfunds, Bolzano route

If you use the Fern Pass you join the Inntel motorway at Imst and then just carry onto the Brenner Motorway at Innsbruck. I can't give you details but I am sure I have seen a post either on here or another forum that said the Landeck/Bolzano route was fine for caravans but I have not used that route my self.
