Camping in summer just north of Bordeaux and looking for a stopover about 4 hours or so south of Calais (heading the abbeville/Rouen route). Don't want to put the tent up so looking for a site which has either pre-erected tents or chalets. Definitely want camping site rather than hotel though. Really appreciate any help as obvious eurocamp etc don't seem to so anything on the route. Thanks!

I dont think many places do stop overs unless you are already booked with the company, such as Eurocamp and Canvas.
I know you said no to hotels but there are so many chains of cheap hotels that it is often so much easier.

To be honest I don't think you'll find anything and perhaps need to be thinking of driving the extra couple of hours to the Loire if you must have pre-erected - it at least means a shorter journey the next day.

A couple of pop up tents and staying at a municipal might need to be considered if you don't want to do more than 4 hours.

Yes I thought a couple of pop ups too. When we were tenters we bought a smaller, easier tent for our overnight stays to make life easier and meant we could still do an overnight stay as a family of 6 for €20. We only unpacked bedding and had easy access to any cooking utensils etc.

if you don't mind gong an extra hour (5 hours south) then you can stay here: http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=5632 we have stayed here for the last 3 years and our next stop is just south of Bordeaux. It is great for kids if you have them and have static vans etc if you don't want to pitch your tent (although we always do)http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=5632

Have a look at the municipal sites along the route. Many of these offer stop-over accommodation. Every town has a campsite. Just google town name + camping. (Helps if you can read a bit of french).

I would steer clear of Rouen this summer as the main bridge over the Seine (Pont Mathilde) is closed until 2014.
