I assume by cleaning you mean removing the fluff and dust off the fan coils of both the indoor and outdoor unit of a split system, then you can normally do this with a vacuum cleaner.

Turn off the power and remove casing. Then remove fluff and dust from the fan coils like you'd remove the fluff from the back of a fridge, using the vacuum cleaner. You might also have filters that need replacing or cleaning on the indoor unit.

Hi

Yes it is a split system, its the inside that we have to have cleaned, the guy who cleans it currently takes all the removable things out then sprays some sort of liquid into the unit and uses a steam cleaner to steam all the muck and mould off,we are trying to find out what the liquid is,he tells us its a specialised liquid but surely if he can buy it we can too as he is isnt a specialist, very hard to get info out of him .i'm hoping we can do it cheaper that €70 ourselves,it does get very grubby.
