Hi
Looking at Google it appears that Sant Pere Pescador is not on the seafront but just inland...is there a resort area on the beach front with bars and shops?
thanks
Adrian

The village/town of Sant Pere Pescador is slightly inland but most of the campsites have access to a wide sandy beach. We stayed at Camping L'Amfora  and there were some shops and a couple of restuarants on the road outside the site although being September most were shut. Never explored along the beach as our one trip we found it far too hot!!!

Hi, There is Bodiga not far from there which have really nice 20 yr old port very cheap. Also their wine is good. Worth going for that. We usually use this as stopover. We stopped at the other site just by C L'Amfora, can't think of name at moment, it is in camping cheque book or acsi and this has a beach also.

Hi, yes it was Aquarius. We have stayed there a couple of times, nice site. Haven't stayed at L'Amfora so can't compare.

Aquarius is next door to L'Amfora

There is a beach bar outside Aquarius and another outside L'Amfora. The whole area is a national park, therefore other than the campsites on the beach (and a couple of beach bars) there is not much here.

There is no road along the beach, just a dirt track

Aquarius and L'Amfora both have on site supermarkets, which is fine for most things, but you will need to use the larger supermarket in Escala, Sant Pere Pescadore or Figueras

If you are looking for more of a resort, with great beach, but restaurants and shops close by, you should consider L'Escala a few km south of Sant Pere Pescadore, which is an old fishing port, but also popular tourist destination (and birth place of the Formula 1 drive Fernando Alonso) - there are some campsites close to the town. Another destination worth considering is Ampuria Brava, about 5km North of Sant Pere Pescadore - There was a recent post from another member, who recommended a couple of sites here as well

Personally I love Aquarius - it is a fantastically run, incredibly clean family oriented camp site. However, 70% or more of the campers come from Germany, it doesn't have a pool and it doesn't have a full on program of entertainment, all of which I know puts off some British families.

It might have been me myself who recommended the Empuriabrava sites but was just wondering of other areas near to explore. I have been to Sant Pere Pescador and L'escala but not to stop only for a few hours so was wondering of somewhere in this area which has a great campsite with a pool, close to the beach (walking distance) and has a small resort/town within easy walking of the site.

El delfin verde is a great camp site on the beach between toroella de montgri and pals. There is an excellent supermarket on site, and the market town of toroella has excellent shops and a local market.
