Hi,
Planning to drive from Calais to Biarritz. Can any one recommend a couple of campsites on the way. Roughly around Tours and Bordeaux. Want to drive for approx 4 hours a day and camp somewhere nice for the children to have fun and a swim. Any campsites with a river beach would be nice.

Theres a campsite at Bordeaux easily reached off the ring rd here, read the reviews.

We are doing similar this Summer. Well my husband is driving to St Emillion from Calais- yelloh site near Bordeaux and me and the kids are flying! We are spending a week there and then down to a site about half an hour inland from Biarritz and then sailing back from Bilbao.

Try "Twin Lakes" near Montendre north of Bordeuax, kids can fish and there is a pool
