Hi,

We are going to the Algarve next month and travelling into Portugal via Seville on the A22. I have had conflicting advise with regard to the current Toll system. Has anyone travelled there lately and if so what is their opinion ?  By the way I will be towing a Caravan.

Thanks in advance.

We travelled into Portugal that way. Entering Portugal it was a roadside toll. Pay by credit card and it was number plate recognition. We have motorhome. Don't know if car and caravan are different.

We were there in Feb/March and we pulled in and had our details recorded by camera. We went to Lagos and the cost was as a class 3 vehicle very expensive!

Four days ago we were travelling from Evora to Nazare, towing our caravan, but decided to do the last 18-20km on the motorway as the road looked a bit wiggly windy. It cost us €4.80! I didn't look at the ticket, but as posted earlier, I suspect we were charged as Class 3. The blurb says a car and caravan is Class 1!
BTW there has been very little traffic observed anywhere, so we'll take the N roads to the Algarve....
