Good stuff, we were there last year in May and loved it. Try a cycle to the Chateau Chambord up the road. Its very impressive (at least from the outside!).

Would second cycling to chambord. The grounds are free with lots of marked trails. Woodland for miles then spectacular grounds. You can picnic right next to the castle. There are restaurants and ice creams and horse drawn carriages if you want to part with money. I would recommend going inside. (quite reasonable i think) and up on the roof with all the chimneys. Fabulous

It's the site we've been looking at too bud. It looks ideal for my young kids as it has good safe cycling very close by and a decent pool complex.
What route are you heading down from Glasgow? We're out in argyll so a little further to drive than you but we're going to stay in a pre-erected tent of some description if we can make up our mind! Ha..

Hi Gil, we're going down to Hull and catching the ferry, i did the drive down to dover once but to be honest the journey back was just too much, its fine when you're going down cos you are off on your hols but coming back its just a long long haul ! some people may like it just fine but personally i like the ferry to Zebrugge

We have also been here and cycled to Chateau, lovely route.
Also if you come out of the campsite and down the road you can cut in behind the houses and down to the river. I had a quick dip after the cycle ride lol

Our kids rate the pool complex as their best ever! We were there during 2012 Olympics and great atmosphere in bar. The restaurant that overlooks chambord is recommended. I did lots of road cycling when there. Fantastic routes to get around.
