Duinrell is a very good family holiday and I am sure you will enjoy it.  The staff are all very helpful and speak very good English.  Depending what weekend you are there will depend on how busy it is - we were there in June and the first weekend was mobbed (local Dutch holiday and lots of germans!).  The campsite was full and was a bit noisy - however during the week - it was fine and less busy.

The park is good and the swimming pool very good.  I would recommend doing your shopping in the near by village as the park shop is very expensive (although have a good range).  The bus service to the local beach is good and I would reccomend a visit - also the bus service the hague is also very good - a lovely beach resort is nearby.  The weather was mixed but warmer than the UK.  don't pack for winter!

If you want anymore info - email me.

Hi,

We have just arrived back from Duinrell after a 2 week stay in our own tent on the Park. It is really good, we booked the site through Suncamp holidays and the ferry from Harwich fom the Hook of Holland direct through Stena Line, and this way we saved a bucket load of cash. All the reviews on this forum were a big decider for us booking and they are top drawer and the people are great. We will definitely be going back. Only downside on the site, is the irish pub if I was realy picky, full of 12 & 13 year olds drinking and swearing. Go to the village buy your own beer, its cheap as chips and take it back to the tent. Otherwise a really good time, my 7 year old thinks its the bees knees.

Would definitely advise to book independantly again, pots cheaper.

I'm sorry curlywint , I'm afraid I'll have to disagree with you about booking direct.I have been to Duinrell 3 times (the children love it) We went mayday bank holiday w/end this year for about £300 for 4nights in a top of the range mobile home with keycamp(which was slightly cheaper than the other operators)- Pand O wanted almost that for the ferry(Harwich-Hook of Holland, which I would recommend as its only about a 20 mile drive the other end).If you look at their brochure or website it would cost us 54 euros a night camping(2 adults 3 kids) and that would not include entrance to the tikipool. Maybe summer holidays may work out cheaper  booking direct, but off season ,espescially when you can get special offers, Eurocamp etc are probably the best bet.

We went to duinrell this year and had a great holiday - there was loads for the kids to do so we never had to worry about keeping them occupied also it was great that the theme park was free.  It meant we could have a really relaxing break.

On a rainy day we visited the European Spain centre which was about 20 minutes drive - really interesting and would recommend this.

We didn't take our bikes this time but if we go again we would definitely take them - Holland was just made for cycling!

My husband has never before wanted to revisit anywhere for a holiday but would go here again as we all had such a good time.

Sue

Ah well, speak as you find Louisa, 12 nights camping with our own tent we were quoted £1089 through eurocamp independant including ferry. We booked independant and did the lot for £550 all in, I'm sure you can get deals like you did, but mine was cheaper to go our own way rather than package. I'm not saying you are wrong, just passing on my experience of eurocamp and booking independantly. Plus we took our own tent and went for 12 nights.for only £250 more than you paid for 4!

I think you are trying to compare apples & pears, but as long as we both got a cheapie, who cares!
